Here is another backcrossed plant. Yes, it is very red, but notice also that the pink-white patches are both fewer but larger.

What do you think the other parent is? Perhaps Sarracenia alabamensis subsp. wherryi? That plant certainly occurs on the property, yet we couldn't find any in the immediate area.
