The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Florida Panhandle in 2008

Return to the Trip Overview

Nice lobes:
I am not complaining. It was great sport admiring the P. lutea flowers. I had not appreciated the variation in the petal lobation of this species before Bob McMorris had brought it to my attention. Compare the flower above to this flower, with much less lobation.

This train of thought reminded me of the white P. lutea that Bob had been looking for, and I mentioned it to Brian, who was hunched over some yellow flowers waving in front of his camera. Brian's response was, "Oh, OK.", which was followed almost instantly, as he looked casually around, with "HEY, like THIS ONE?"
