A colorful specimen
Here is another fabulous plant growing in the muck.

Let me set the scene for when I took this photograph. I was standing up to my belt in mucky pond-slime, with my tripod set up in front of me, photographing this pond-edge plant. Randy was sitting, nice and dry, in his kayak about 3 meters to my left.

We were quietly chatting about this and that, as I waited for the sun to disappear behind a cloud--and if the breezes stopped, I would pause to take a few exposures. It was quite lovely....
