Nice pitcher plants
Meet me face to face, and I'll tell you about some of the hardships of that hike. It was tough, I will not deny it!
But we were well-rewarded at the end point of our hike, where our path disintegrated through a
stream-crossing.
As we searched for the trail, we found a population of Sarracenia psittacina.
I don't know if I would have been so enthusiastic about lying down in the sedges to photograph these plants
had I known they were filled with chiggers.
Probably I would, because now---weeks after the event, the chigger sores are gone, but I still have the photographs
and memories.
