Do you notice how generally pale these plants are? Such is the consequence of growing in less than full sun, I believe. Yet they are growing quite well, nevertheless.

Finishing up with these plants, I thought about exploring the stream at the base of the hill, especially where it appeared to fan out into a sort of marsh. In particular, I wondered about Utricularia. But the Paulos told me that they had scoured the area with no luck.

Gathering up our gear, we loaded the car. Paulo #1 was low on gas, and we all were low on food. Unfortunately, it was late in the afternoon, and we were in that restaurant dead period between lunch and dinner menus.
