Don't fall in!
In this closer view, especially on the right side, you can see the sucked-in, prey-anticipating shape of the bladders. I am enthralled by the symmetry of these leaves.

I also found U. geminiscapa, but it just wasn't as photogenic. (In other words, none of my images came out well.) That's a real pity since it was the first time I had ever seen the species.

Having gotten thoroughly mucked up at this site, I jumped into my rental car and immediately left great glistening smear trails of pond muck all over the interior. (Fortunately, the really egregious marks were only by my feet, so I figured I would probably not get a cleaning bill from Dollar Rent-A-Car.) I zipped off to a friend's house to see his collection of cultivated plants.
