Return to the Trip Overview

Strange rosettes:
Phill and Dave headed up to the top of the clearing and into the woods, and I trailed along. Phill was looking for something that interested him on previous trips. After some poking around in smaller clearings that were nearby, he found his target--some interesting, rosetted sundews that are clearly Drosera erythrorhiza, but to Phill's eyes a bit peculiar. The range of leaf sizes on the rosettes suggest that these are D. erythrorhiza subsp. collina, but because of a number of minor issues that perhaps we can convince him to write about, he thinks these might be a undescribed variant. I think he is still pondering the issue.
