More stripes!
Continuing on the tour of venation spectrum, you might
like this plant which was boldly pin striped. The fruit were fat and presumably filled with seed. (They were lagging the
other plants in phenology, and the fruit were not quite yet ready to open.)
It was right about this point that we had some visitors. Neighbors had spotted our parked cars and walked over to give us
the hairy eye. I explained who we were, dropped the appropriate names of the site managers who had given us permission, and
the sentinels were pacified. I was very happy to see them---this kind of neighborhood watch helps keep the poachers at bay.
