Return to the Trip Overview

Sundew:
The back portion of the Watson property has a different character. It is a little more sandy, a little more drained. Still pitcher plants poked up here and there.

Here is a nice, well-behaved Drosera capillaris--it is not being "long-leaved" or otherwise peculiar. I was pleased to see this, because lately I have been getting frustrated by the antics of Drosera capillaris in the Gulf Coast, and didn't really feel in the mood for wondering if these were hybrids or members of some crypto-species. It was plain old Drosera capillaris, without any controversial elements! Thank God. It was hot, and I just wanted to enjoy myself.
