The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Return to the Trip Overview

Ooohhhh....
Oh, now wait a minute. This isn't at all what I had been thinking about! Oh, marchantii... macrantha...two different things! My brain reset itself and got back on track.

This is a very interesting erect sundew with circular peltate leaves. They are produced almost as if in whorls, unlike any of the other species we had seen so far. It is a most excellent plant indeed! By the way, this is Drosera marchantii subsp. marchantii.

Beth voiced her pleasure at having found this plant before Phill, and Phill had the good graces to admit that he had been outdone by the yank Sheila (if I have my Australian lingo down correct).
