The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Florida Panhandle in 2008

Return to the Trip Overview

A pitcher plant!
As if to add a bit of sugar, we noticed a scattering of Sarracenia rubra subsp. gulfensis along the stream---another new plant for me!

After a bit of rain, Brian and I decided to head back east. But with little time left in the day, we decided to visit a roadside site that I had learned about from Joe Mazrimas. Joe told me that the site had fabulously large Drosera intermedia plants, some of the largest that he had ever seen.

This sounded very exciting to both of us, so we drove to the Drosera intermedia site with enthusiasm.
