Can you say "Kandarian Demons?"
Or "ancient funereal rites?" Or
"Necronomicon ex mortis?" I've been told I have read too much
Lovecraft or seen too many horror films. Whatever. But I was on edge every
second I was there. I was on an isolated island, staying in an old cabin in the
woods. Could the set up for attack by the undead be any more obvious?
I searched that place carefully, and I am telling you that if I
found a trap door to a root cellar in one of the rooms, man, I
would have spent the night in the canoe.
(And yes, while we were there I
did find some pages from an ancient religious text. While they were
just some
passages from the Bible left by some well-meaning evangelist, there was
no way I was going to read those lines aloud. Not in a secluded cabin, not
at night, and certainly not without a tool shed properly stocked with a
chain saw or shotgun.)
