Returning at a trot:
My return bushwhack, and then travel on the AT/LT (taken at a trot!), was uneventful. I was still smarting from my
GPS-only experiment on the
outward bound portion of the trip, so on my return I navigated more sensibly using my GPS and compass in tandem.
Here, at this last stream crossing, I cleaned the mud from my boots, clothes, and
gear so my cleanup work in my hotel would be a little less heinous. I stayed streamside until dusk, enjoying the sounds of
sunset in Vermont.
This was a bracing but refreshing end to a marvelous trip;
a journey to a wonderful pond I fully expect to revisit.
