The Trip:
If you haven't read my previous trip report, here is the skinny:
Beth and I were spending two weeks in western Florida.
Seven of the days were Beth's to schedule (usually looking at wildlife), and the other seven were mine
(usually looking at plants). Fortunately for the tranquility of our vacation, places with intact communities of
native plants invariably support large populations of wildlife.
A mere day and half of our vacation was dedicated to Splinter Hill Bog, in Alabama. But it is such an astonishing
place it merits its on trip report.
