Q: Field trip report: New South Wales, Australia


A: Where do I start? In September 2007 my lovely wife and I made a long-overdue trip to Australia to marvel at the carnivorous plants, fabulous birds, spectacular scenery, and also to say hello to old friends and make new ones. We had extremely high hopes for this trip, and what we saw....what we saw....completely demolished even my most unrealistic hopes. The trip was simply extraordinary in so many ways.

I took far too many photographs to make a single trip report, so I am breaking it into several episodic reports. This is the first, and describes our carnivorous plant times in New South Wales, i.e. in the eastern part of the country.
