Q: Field trip report: Southern Portugal, late spring, 2011
A: Early 2011, we planned to fly from the USA to France and spend a few weeks with Beth's mother, where
she is living as an expat in Paris. Of course, foremost in my mind was which carnivorous plants we could see while
there.
I considered the prospects of engaging in a road trip to look for interesting Pinguicula in the mountains
of France (P. alpina, P. fiorii, P. grandiflora, P. leptoceras, P. longifolia, etc.). However, just minutes
into this line of thought I started thinking about how a small additional flight from France would get
us to Spain and Portugal.
And as we all know, that is the land of Drosophyllum!
See the field trip!
