Q: About Utricularia subgenus Utricularia section Sprucea
A: This section consists of a single species that Taylor obviously was not quite sure what
to do with. It has fairly unremarkable flowers, but the leaves, pollen, and traps all suggest inclusion in other sections.
Perhaps molecular studies will be able to help.
Utricularia viscosa
This violet flowered species has stolons that stay embedded in the soil, and long
filamentary, weakly divided leaves which apparently float in the water column.
