Picard footwear

There's lots of different footwear present in the first two seasons of Picard (Federation and Confederation, Q, civilians, etc.), but I'm only interested in Federation styles.

I dug through images of screen-used gear that was sold at propstoreauction.com (15-29 November 2022) and confirmed that the boot styles worn by Federation personnel were the same in Seasons 1 and 2, regardless of rank or division. Shown below are uniforms of S1 Operations uniform, S2 Cadet, and S2 Admiral Picard.

Cyril A. Jaquel pointed out to me that at the 2019 Destination Star Trek in Birmingham, Picard uniforms were on display, and they included relatively understated black boots with some elastic panelling:

Surprisingly, the brand is still visible on the heel of the boots: Blundstone. Digging further through the auction images for propstoreauction.com, it appears that the same boots appear to be used for all three sets of uniforms:

S1 Operations uniform boots

S2 Cadet uniform boots

S2E1 Admiral uniform boots

Via social media, Cyril learned what he believes is a match...model #063 in black--their dress Chelsea boots. The Blundstone model #558 is essentially identical, although a bit more rugged, and has the advantage of being available in a size 14. Below, the #063 is at left, #558 is at right.

Both models are currently available from the Blundstone website (Blundstone.com) for a bit more than US$200, and for less than that on eBay. Note that there appears to be a slight sizing oddity about Blundstone boots. While all the references I have found online state that Australian shoe sizes are the same as US shoe sizes, the Blundstone sizing guide indicates that their sizes are one unit smaller than US sizes, for all their sizes. So for example, if you were a US size 11.5, you'd buy a Blundstone size 10.5. Indeed, when I got my Blundstones (size 11.5), I was alarmed to see that the box and the bottoms of the shoes all said 10.5--yet they fit just fine.

Cyril futher discovered that while the model 063 were used for men's uniforms, model 1671 was used for the women's uniforms. They're very, very similar...perhaps a bit less boxy. The images below are of the 1671, taken directly from the Blundstone web site.
